Our Story
The Happy Dog Haven is the brainchild of Rachael O’Regan, a dog behaviour specialist and CEO of an international dog rescue, The Responsible Dog Rescue C.I.C.
Southport born and bred but well travelled, Rachael realised that there was a gap in the services provided for dogs and cats in the area - and so The Happy Dog Haven was born!
Rachael and the fantastic, caring, experienced team - Kennel and Behaviour manager Alex L, Volunteer, Marketing & Fundraising manager Alex B, and animal carers Ben and Molly provide; boarding, doggy day care, grooming, behaviour advice and training for dogs on one site, whilst cats can relax in our luxury, self contained cat hotel.

Doggy day care
Dog behaviourists state that a well socialised dog is a happy dog. Our indoor and outdoor doggy day care complex is a brilliant way to socialise and exercise your dog for a full or half day whilst you work, shop or relax.
Dog boarding
Our indoor, heated dog suites are roomy enough for your dog to relax - and the multiple levels allow them to socialise, eat and sleep depending on how they are feeling. Our dog suites can all accommodate two dogs - so bonded pairs can stay together - and some can even fit three!
Is your cat a king?
Luxury cat boarding
We know that nothing but the very best is good enough for your precious feline, so our luxury, self-contained cat hotel is perfect to meet their high standards. Each self-contained suite houses up to three cats and is on multiple levels - so whether they want to relax or play it is the purrfect environment for them!
Cat day care
Discerning clients are increasingly using our cat day care services - particularly for kittens or older cats.
NEW Daily rates - Dogs
*Effective from 1st August 2023 (includes VAT)
*All drop off from 2pm on the day of arrival and pickup before 12pm on the day of departure
Early check-in is £12 per dog - arrive from 8am (mon-fri) or 9am (sat & sun) on the day of arrival
Late check-out is £12 per dog - depart before 6pm (mon-fri) or 5pm (sat & sun) on the day of departure
